Dragons are unable to speak, and use telepathy outside of specific instances. Dragons lay their eggs and move on, allowing nature and adventurers to weed the weak out. Dragons start off at about the intelligence of feral house cats, by 10 they have established a weak form of telepathy consisting of simple words, 25 they fully establish an audibly comprehensible ‘Mind Voice’, and by 50 years of age they would have intelligence equal to a young adolescent human’s. By 200 years of age, a dragon is considered an adult. At about this point, parents begin to look for their children for their Ayla or Weyr. If another dragon can dominate or persuade a younger, they can ‘poach’ the young adult into their own Ayla or Weyr. By 500, if they have not been claimed one way or another, they tend to become a Fury due to the Great Game’s influence.
