Nuridian is the Dragon God of Benevolence and Destruction, and sits as the defacto ruler of the Major Pantheon. Even before his enshrinement into such a post, however, his fellow Dragon Goddess Syrin has been his intellectual rival since their very beginnings. While being diametrically opposed in terms of certain domains and dispositions, Nuridian and Syrin have quarreled much more over strategy instead of the cost of a life. It was after one particularly destructive campaign against each other did Syrin approach with an offer. She wagered that dragonkind -if given the chance- would leverage their natural superiority over mortals at the first chance they got, and in turn lord over them like kings. Nuridian naturally disagreed, as she presumed, and thus a divine spell was cast by the both of them: the Xorvintaal. With the spell cast, Syrin already became victorious.
