Maconniasian and Xaintongeaisian term that roughly and loosely is generally accepted to mean a battle-brother of sorts, as a holdover from the War of the Heights. However, in Maconnias it means a great deal more, while in Xaintongeais the use of the word has generally fallen out of use quite some time ago. in Maconnias, the term means someone who has sworn an oath to another when the Oath receiver is in dire situations. A common example that helps point the word to be accepted to mean battle-brother across the wider continent of Derikes is when someone swears to bring someone else out of a battlefield alive. However, a King may receive an Oath and gain an Ioshar when they are overextended, and the oath would be to capably run a duchy, county, or fief for them in order to alleviate that burden.
